Thoughts
Have I ever mention that I dislike Straw Hats playing with animals chapter covers? Sometimes they are nice but most of the time I am just wondering when we will have something interesting like a colorpage or coverstory.
Now to the story at hand!
This chapter was simple but it did a lot to give a recap of where we are in the arc and an explanation for what happen last chapter. We kind of needed a recap with all the breaks we have had in the last month. I had kind of forgotten that we had left off with everybody in Block D knocked out. I am sure nobody forgot where the Straw Hats at Dressrosa was at but it was nice to see that Riku isn't a toy and Doflamingo in good spirits.
Doflamingo is slowly showing that he is overconfident in his ability to squash the Straw Hats. Throughout this arc, Doflamingo keeps saying that he won't underestimate the Straw Hats. After all, that is what has led to the downfall of most of the previous villains that the Straw Hats have encounter thus far.
Now we have Doflamingo boasting that the Straw Hats are pretty much a non-issue as only one of them has taken the initiative to do anything. In reality, the Straw Hats are deep within the underground factory and are beginning to position themselves for a full blown attack. It is going to be great when Doflamingo finds out that the Straw Hats are creating havoc right under his nose with him having no idea how they were even given the chance. The D is going to get Doflamingo at the end and it will be priceless to the look on his face.
Was it just me or did anybody else smiled when Doflamingo referred to Usopp as Sniper King. That was pretty awesome.
I wonder why Law is in the Heart Chair. We all know that Doflamingo wanted to make Law the head of that division. Is he trying to pull off some sort of mind games on the Warlord? This is quite interesting as we see that Law is still passed out.
Lastly, lets talk about what is going on at the Coliseum. Cavendish was used as a device to end the battle in Block D. He failed to win the round as Rebecca was the only one left standing after using some impressive Observation Haki to dodge all of his powerful sleep attacks.
I feel that this was kind of a cheap way to get Rebecca to the next round. We all know she has exceptional Observation Haki and has been doing a great job in dodging attacks. It just that it cheapens her win that it was Cavendish who did all the work. Rebecca didn't leave the battle unscratched but I would love to see her fight a bit more. Though, now we know what made Cavendish into an infamous pirate.
Just by this chapter alone, I can tell that the rest of this arc is going to be fun. Luffy and his crew are going to make some mess and Doflamingo is going to find himself in an interesting situation. As I mention before, he is going to be in for the surprise of his life when he see Luffy and crew inside the palace and factory.
Until next time true believers!
