Outside of Doflamingo's Palace, Luffy's group stands shocked by Pica's devil fruit power to absorb stone because he essentially controls the entire estate. Looks like we're already in trouble.
Well, we're boned
Meanwhile at the Corrida Colosseum, the finals continue with Jesus Burgess fending off the Fighting Fish with ease but doesn't win points with the audience because he sends it flying into the bleachers. Come a long way since Mock Town hasn't he?
Another Fighting Fish emerges with the Flame Flame Fruit strapped to its back. Lucy grabs the fish and blocks an attack by Diamante with his pipe. Burgess goes for Lucy and the fish next but Lucy intercepts and destroys one of Burgess' elbow guards. Diamante starts to get suspicious of Lucy...
Only Lucy can make a pipe beat a sword
In the Underground Factory, Usopp and the others find the tower which Sugar is in right now and not only her, but Cavendish as well. He is greeted by Trebol (the gross, snotty, sticky man) and Sugar herself. Cavendish is covered in goop and demands to be released but with one touch from sugar, he becomes a toy.
She implants the "contract" in his head about obeying the family and not harming humans and although Cavendish's mind is confused and resistant, his wooden body is otherwise complying. Not only Cavendish but other fighters we've seen that have been turned into toys are acting the same way.
The fanfiction writes itself
Usopp and the others observe Trebol and Sugar from a distance and Leo has revealed the plan to knock Sugar out. Shes always eating grapes so they'll place a super-spicy tobasco ball in her bowl of grapes which is apparently so spicy that'll do the job.
The chapter ends with Usopp saying that he'll cover Leo while he places the ball and reminding everyone that once shes down, the toys will be back to being humans and Doflamingo's true colours will be revealed at last.
FOR GONDOR!
I wasn't too impressed with this chapter. There were good moments such as Pica being able to use the entire palace estate as a weapon, Lucy's attack on Burgess and the gnome's not too subtle way of carrying out their plan but it feels like Oda tried to cram a bit too much in yet there wasn't much progression in the story itself.
Hopefully the next one will be better, so look forward to next time. I'm getting a craving for some grapes.
I bet I can swallow that ball without fainting (I loooove spicy food)
