Manga: Chapter 741 (SPOILERS!)

Buckle up soldier, we One Piece each week in Weekly Shonen Jump!

Following from last week, Usopp continues his cowardly act of running away (which I am still mad about) and Trebol makes the toys go back to work. Leo tells Trebol and Sugar all about "Usoland" and how heroic he is but Trebol just laughs him off. Leo however, is really angry and completely convinced that their hero will not abandon them when suddenly Usopp (who has been listening in on the conversation) himself returns to make them stop talking about him by admitting to his lie and revealing how he is really a pirate. Finally!

Oh my heart...



Leo, as well as the other dwarves, are in shock over this revelation but Usopp manages to redeem himself by declaring that despite the lying, he will still defend the dwarves since he wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing he let the them down and he wants to die a noble death. He begins his attack on Trebol with one of his Pop Greens.

Meanwhile at the palace, Doflamingo becomes aware of a doppelganger of himself (who is Kin'emon if you recall) in the palace while the Thunder Soldier who is still hiding prepares a sword to wield when he becomes human again. We then see a flashback of a young Kyros (who is very violent) attacking King Riku since he is about to be arrested for murdering two people but Riku tells his soldiers not to attack Kyros and even asks the little thug to come with him.

You're kind of a jerk Riku

Riku showed Kyros mercy by allowing him his freedom if he wins 100 battles at the Colosseum which he accomplished in 4 months. But despite this, Kyros chose to stay in the Colosseum and continues to win battle after battle eventually winning his 1000th battle and winning over the people of Dressrosa even though nobody liked him before. The chapter ends with Riku and Kyros over the grave of Kyros' best friend (who was murdered in the incident that got him arrested). Kyros cries over the fact that the people will always remember him as a murderer.

Begin the passive aggression!

As I mentioned earlier, Usopp's actions in the previous chapter made me angry since he shouldn't be acting the exact same way he was during his first appearance but luckily his redemption came through for both me and the dwarves so it'll be interesting to see how this fight progresses to see if he really does become Usoland.

The flashback section is also a bit unexpected but sheds some light on Kyros' relationship with Riku and how brutal he used to act especially considering how passive aggressive he is now. It'll will be neat to see how he gets from the man who won 1000 battles to a toy soldier. One last thing, this is one of those rare chapters that didn't have a single funny moment so hopefully we'll get a laugh or two next chapter. Until next time, have a good week everyone!
