First Thoughts

Hey y'all! Its my first Anime recap and I am pumped! Mikey shall be doing the manga recap for this week and hopefully the normal cast roles shall be restored pretty soon.

There wasn't anything too special or unique about this episode, its your standard recap filler episode but the fact that this recap is integral to the current situation and features some of the best arcs/episodes in the series so far but admittingly because of the fact that they placed full scenes of these makes the episode drag a little bit, but heck at least its GOOD filler.

First Thoughts
So after a bit of a break from blogging about the anime, I am back....I am sorry. I promise that Sora will be back next week.

This was some episode with the constant running around with Zoro and the pantyshots for Brook. Though I have to say that the Zoro part had something of fanservice from Perona with all the cleavage shots she was giving us. Maybe I was the only one that notice it since I like Perona but there was a good lot of them. There was enough of it where I had to conduct an 'investigation' for it. Due to the time limit, the investigation wasn't through but detectives have to do with what they are given. I can just hope that maybe in the future we can revisit Zoro's predicament in order to continue this investigation.

Con Piece: The Great AKon Adventure (Part III)

Anime fans have tons of different talents which range from developing websites for their favorite anime, doing anime music videos or video and/or audio editing. Then you have talents that are much more noticeable as in raving, cosplay, LARPing and as seen above, break dancing.

It is cool to see people just doing what they love for the fun of it and before you know it, there is a crowd. I have no idea how this crowd started but I am sure that these guys just started to break dance and while one was dancing, the others were making sure there was enough space and kept the watchers at a distance. Then one person came and another and another until a huge crowd appeared. That is the magic of conventions, creating crowds as you can see what happen a bit during Part II of this great AKon adventure and/or gathering around cool figurines in the dealers room like one of SailorSamus's new treasure as seen in  Figure Piece.

I'm pretty new to One Piece fandom, I've really only gotten into it in the past year, and I'm about 60 episodes into the anime, and only up to about volume 10 in the manga. Catching up to the massive backlog of episodes and chapters is very daunting, but so far I'm enjoying it.

That said, my favorite character is Roronoa Zoro, the pirate hunter. Once I knew that I would be attending A-kon, it was only natural that I would be on the lookout for a good Zoro figure to start my One Piece/Zoro collection. Figure collecting is something that I've only started around 4-5 years ago, and most of my collection is simply gashapons - small boxes that hold small random figures that you put together. In the past year, I've moved up to collecting the bigger PVC figures as well. At A-kon 21 this year, I ended up buying Dragon Ball X One Piece Kai DX Roronoa Zoro by Banpresto.

Con Piece: The Great AKon Adventure (Part II)

You can find a lot of interesting cosplays at conventions and the bigger the conventions then the higher the chance to find an interesting cosplay. One thing that I didn't expect to find at this convention was Waldo. Can you find Waldo in the picture above?

Well it wasn't that hard to find Waldo at this convention since I saw about four or five of them at AKon. During one point of time at AKon I saw them all in a group. Not sure if they planned this but if not then they had a lucky break here. I should have gotten a picture of them together but that is my mistake there. Though if you want a look back at before the invasion of Waldos then feel free to look at Part I of this series of Akon convention recap.

Anime: Friends’ Whereabouts Arc- Episode 455

First Thoughts
Sora here; I will be doing this week’s episode because Mikey and I are trying to set up some sort of rotation here with who will be doing the anime, and so my time landed on this week. Enjoy.

I was hopeful that this episode would be good, to make up for half of last week’s episode. Yes, it is of course Sanji’s fateful and terrifying encounter. But enough ranting about that already, everyone has heard far more of that then could be possibly said in a thousand years by now.

Well, I was worried about this episode, for a couple of reasons. First off, because Usopp’s part doesn’t look all that great to me. That Heracles dude freaks me out and is irritating, and I wasn’t looking forward to Usopp getting comically fat. The main reason for my hesitation with this episode was, of course, my issue with this style of animation. It is so cheap, it is disgraceful towards the good name of One Piece.

I was looking forward to seeing Robin’s part though, that looked very interesting and useful to me. Even with the bad animation, it still was high on my list of things to see. Of course, that is because Robin is my favorite character, for obvious reasons related to her vast collection of knowledge and how strong of a character she is.

One Piece More: Welcoming the New Guys

What am I doing? Oh yeah....Umm...

Things have been really busy this week in both real life and on the blog side. I have been slowly  recovering from AKon and getting over my con hangover. Getting back into the step of a normal life (Whatever normal means) that doesn't involve me getting angry with many horribly design streets. Then on blog side, things been going normally except that there is the job of doing the Akon con report which has been really fun so far. Though at the same time there are many things coming on the horizon which one of them will be revealed in this post!

Con Piece: The Great Akon Adventure (Part I)

Alternative title for this post was going to be 'The AKon Adventure and Dallas Sucks' but I decided to drop the last part even though it was very true. Their freeways and streets are horribly designed and the signs don't make sense. Anybody who plans to go to Dallas and travel around the city needs to make sure they carry a map with them, GPS, life insurance, car insurance and plan to leave an hour early when traveling. If you don't do that then expect to get lost, upset and suffer dire consequences. 

In order words...Dallas sucks.

Still enough about me hating on Dallas. I did enough of that already and I am sure nobody wants to hear me talk about that. Instead lets talk about how great Akon was because it was! I had a great time at the con and I am sure the tweets I sent from the con were showing that. First thing first, Stephanie Young (voice of Robin of the Funimation dub) so made this con for me and she was totally awesome! Special thanks to her since I really enjoy attending her panels. Then we saw so much great cosplays which you can see in the 200 plus pictures I took! Still just an amazing con and my friends and I had so much fun!

Though enough about me talking about how much fun I had and more about why I had so much fun or whatever I do in these post! haha

First Thoughts

Here we have another addition to the little ‘catch-up with friends activities involving single-scene panels’ Toei seems to be so fond of recently. They still are doing a remarkably good job with them too. It makes me interested in Robin’s meeting with the revolutionaries here soon. This time though, it is the rather entertaining island that Chopper has been sent to and, of course, the inevitable Okama paradise that Sanji has been unfortunate enough to land on. Honestly, I dreaded watching this episode, if only for the torture of having to watch poor Sanji be humiliated in this fashion.

Oh, and I’m the guest blogger-person that Mikey was talking about last week. He’s having too much fun at AKon to be here right now, so to prevent any accidental mistakes within the Anime review today and to keep everything running half-way smoothly, I am taking over!
