Thoughts

This was a great episode to watch the first time through. Every scene felt meaningful and added another layer of depth to the characters that were focused on in this episode.

Then I had a second viewing of this episode. It was not as fun to watch and I wanted to skip to the highlights. This does not occur often when I re-watch episodes. Maybe it is because I know that cool things are in store very soon and that all of this is just set up.

The revelation at the end of the episode had the same impact through both viewing. I will get to that later in the post.

Also a reminder, next week is the premiere of Opening 15, We Go.

One Piece More: Down Goes 2010

We are now at that time of the year where things are coming to a close. Another year is about to come to an end and while some part of it has sucked, things for One Piece has been nothing but good. Many great things have happen in both the anime and manga, Japanese and American, and lastly with the fans. Now just like many other blogs I guess we are going to be cliche and try to take a look at some of the things that we like concerning One Piece that has happen this year. Meh...We here try not to do what all the other blogs do but then again who am I trying to kid? haha

Thoughts

So many face shots in this episode! More face shots then you have toes and fingers. Kind of crazy in the amount of face shots and how long they last. Then again they had to find a way to past time in order to fill a twenty three minutes time slot which they did a good job of since every shot looked really nice.

Also I think with this episode we at the blog have created a new tag featuring the popular Marine admiral Akainu. This would be the moment where I mention that we need a tag for Aokiji but it seems like somebody went ahead and created one called 'Aokiji Greatness' which is okay with me. haha

Anime; Marineford Arc- Episode 469

First Thoughts
There was a lot of boobs in this episode. So many boob shots! So many. Maybe I was bored or something but I did notice the boob shots. Though this should be normal but in reality due to Nami and Robin not appearing in the last twenty or so episode then we have actually been in a drought from boobs. Wait...that makes me sound like some sort of perv! Oh well, Oda would say something that I am just a healthy young man or something. So Oda has my back! haha

Though this was a kind of lackluster episode. The first half wasn't that great and if it means anything there was a lot more boob shots in it. Picked up in the second half which is good.

One Piece More: Do We Ever Talk About One Piece Here?

So summer is finally over and by now everybody should be back to the grind of school. May you be rushing to finish last minute assignments or just being the good student by getting your assignments done in time. It seems like the dogdays of summer have clearly ended as the days become cooler and autumn is beginning to set in if you live in the northern hemisphere. The ones in the southern part of the world I am guessing things are getting hotter and I wish I could be there because I surely hate the cold. Still for the ones that are starting school then I wish you all to stay strong because we need to live in a strong world as both One Piece fans and people.

Anime: Marineford Arc- Episode 466

First Thoughts

Well, I must say that I loved it. It was a great follow-up from last week’s drama-filled action-turning episode too. There were still serious moments, yet way more “funny” than last week. The discovery of just Why they were falling from the sky…oh man, that is definitely unexpected! I liked how they implemented all of the stuff happening in the battle while showing at the same time what was happening on Luffy’s end. It was all really well played on their parts.

However, the whole episode, not just parts is what made this episode grand. Comedy, more drama, surprises, shock, exhilaration, changing alliances, wicked Awesome powers, and more all created a beautiful display much more than just an explanatory episode.

Con Piece: The Great Akon Adventure (Part I)

Alternative title for this post was going to be 'The AKon Adventure and Dallas Sucks' but I decided to drop the last part even though it was very true. Their freeways and streets are horribly designed and the signs don't make sense. Anybody who plans to go to Dallas and travel around the city needs to make sure they carry a map with them, GPS, life insurance, car insurance and plan to leave an hour early when traveling. If you don't do that then expect to get lost, upset and suffer dire consequences. 

In order words...Dallas sucks.

Still enough about me hating on Dallas. I did enough of that already and I am sure nobody wants to hear me talk about that. Instead lets talk about how great Akon was because it was! I had a great time at the con and I am sure the tweets I sent from the con were showing that. First thing first, Stephanie Young (voice of Robin of the Funimation dub) so made this con for me and she was totally awesome! Special thanks to her since I really enjoy attending her panels. Then we saw so much great cosplays which you can see in the 200 plus pictures I took! Still just an amazing con and my friends and I had so much fun!

Though enough about me talking about how much fun I had and more about why I had so much fun or whatever I do in these post! haha

Anime: Impel Down Arc- Episode 450

First Thoughts
This episode really made me look back to the chapters in Shonen Jump to make sure that everything was done right. I know that the anime has mostly been loyal to the manga but some parts made me wonder if it really happen like it was. I only read the manga for this part once but some things felt a bit off like the final blow and where it happen. Still all was right in this episode as being loyal to the source. Not sure if that is a good thing but at least I know that all is correct.

This has to be one of the better episodes that we have gotten. Everything was nicely paced and the filler was good. What more could we ask for during an important part in the arc. Where the episode ended was just perfect too since it wasn't just rushed and cut off. The only thing I am wondering about is where will the next episode end on but that is something that can be talked about later on in this post.

First Thoughts
This was a great episode. The ball is finally moving and I am glad that the episode was better then what the preview was making it look like. The preview for this episode wasn't great and it didn't do a good job in selling me this episode. Still the episode itself was a great watch and ten times better then what it looked like.

Mr. 3 looks awesome up there doesn't he? haha Don't think he has pull off this type of awesome since his run during Little Garden but either way keep it up.

Beside the episode being awesome, it was pretty funny too. Just in One Piece grace and style. What more could be ask for right? haha

Anime: Impel Down Arc- Episode 448

First Thoughts
I really enjoyed this episode. It was one of the best that we have had in a long while which means it is better compare to the episodes that we had for the last three or so weeks. I do admit that the animation was a bit off and there was a part that made me wonder what was going on but overall this was a great episode. I would have to rank this one higher compare to the other episodes in this arc.

The fight between Ivankov and Inazuma really won me over in this episode and it is that action that got me pumped to see what will happen next. I really want to know what will happen to those two guys since they don't look too good right now. Maybe I have a short term memory but I don't remember being this excited to see what will happen next week. Instead of the 'I hope next week's episode is better then this week's' thing that I been feeling. Still to the episode!

Con Piece: Hanging with the Peeps at Anime Matsuri

Four years ago, a young anime fan went to his first anime convention. He made his first cosplay two days before the convention with glued on buttons. Four years later, this fan attended the same convention as a member of the media and is some what more knowledgeable about anime. His cosplay was much better prepare compare to the last first one. That anime fan was me and that anime convention was....

ANIME MATSURI!

This con holds a special place in my heart. Even though none of my friends liked this convention the first two years it was held, I just love this convention so much. Maybe it was because Anime Matsuri was my first con or maybe  because I actually love it. Still we all left this convention liking our experience this year and having fun. I only went for a full day and a few hours on Friday but it was really fun. I love all the One Piece fans that were here from the dealers room to the cosplayers.

Still enough of me doing all this reflecting, let just go to the stuff!

Anime: Impel Down Arc- Episode 447

First Thoughts
You know, these episode titles have lately been very mistitled. We did get some fighting in this episode between Luffy and Blackbeard but it wasn't much. Just two minutes of punches and then we got flashbacks and talking. A mostly serious episode but I wish we could move a bit faster though.

Got to say that Buggy and Mr. 3 really saved the episode for me. Took us out of this little thing of watching Luffy and Blackbeard just stare each other down. Now that was funny.

This is a short First Thoughts. I blame the essay I have to do....Grr!

Anime: Impel Down Arc- Episode 444

First Thoughts
I usually have trouble remembering the episode number. Still this week I had no problem with that since it was just a single number typed three times. So that is good. haha I now know that my memory isn't that bad. Yet...

What can I say about this episode right now? It was just so funny whenever we were focus on the antics of Luffy and the group he is with. I mean do I have to say it? Ivankov was one of the main reasons why I laughed so hard in this episode. Still we got a good round of cool things in this episode too like Buggy and Mr. 3 being cool. So it was a great episode overall.
