Anime: Straw Hat Reunion Arc- Episode 522

Apparently “fake” ladies aren’t Sanji’s forte. Get real ladies (and fake ones) only at OnePieceOfficial.com. They could be somewhere else, but it is not likely.
First Thoughts
First things first: so glad to be back in the review business! I missed this so much, and am overjoyed to have returned to this near-regularity once more. Things should get moving here soon, and more is still to come, so keep looking out for these Anime Reviews! Now, onto the episode, one of my favorites in this short arc.

The best part of watching this episode was the animation of Sanji’s nosebleed. That and Luffy’s reaction to his crew members made the episode excellent. To someone who had not read the manga in advance, this episode was filled with surprises and excitement, all of which were impressively brought to life from their ink and paper origins.

I tried something new for this review: I watched the episode then I read the chapter afterwards.  I will turn this into a habit in order to improve my understanding of the episode and my ability to convey what the anime improved or elaborated on from the manga.

Anime: Straw Hat Reunion Arc- Episode 518

Marry yourself to OnePieceOfficial.com to watch your One Piece episodes! Updates weekly!

First Thoughts
This week's episode felt a bit weak compared to the episode from last week. You may have noticed that there was a lot of filler material in the episode. Filler material isn't a bad thing but it can be bad because  it can slow the pace of the episode. If you didn’t notice a slow pace then please let me know.
It is unfortunate because this episode has some good moments in it.

Anime: Post Marineford Arc- Episode 491 *Late*

It is always a sad time to say goodbye to this grand Arc. Of course, WE can see what happens after the fighters disperse right over at OnePieceOfficial.com

First Thoughts

Sora once more, seemingly in a pattern of school-dazed lateness…but with all good intents and purposes, this episode sure did lift my spirits considerably! Well, erm, sorta. After all, in all of the ways this war could have ended (and people recuperated in the aftermath), it turned out rather well. For some people. But not Luffy. As this episode so easily points out, the aftermath of the Great War is certainly not the end to piracy, or even a break from it. Hancock has an actually important decision to make here, and even with her newly-found Real Nice-ness, it may not be enough to see Luffy through…all-in-all, not what I was expecting. Much, much better!

Anime: Marineford Arc- Episode 490 *Late*

What a great way to start off…well, anything actually. This type of great “final lines” can only be found at OnePieceOfficial.com. I’m there. Are you?

First Thoughts

Sora back (and late…again) with last week’s episode of One Piece! Hey, think of it this way, skipping a week to get double the episode coverage for the price of one, right?

This was an astounding episode, these whole last few have been a wonderful end to the epic Whitebeard War Saga. Only an episode or two to go until it is over, and from the action on-screen you can definitely tell. The events of this episode where only a bit over half of a surprise, but it was totally worth it. Great episode, and I can tell you, I am stoked for the official end of this Saga-to-end-all-sagas!

Anime: Marineford Arc- Episode 478

“I am Whitebeard: Hear me roar!”
Only at OnePieceOfficial.com can you get action that is just THIS intense.

First Thoughts

Again, I may add, I was surprised by the events which were covered in my episode. I mean really, this episode held onto a lot of the humor which last episode (477) had brought, and yet saved a few surprises of its own right at the right moments. It was also almost entirely beautifully drawn as well; excellent face-scenes and shots of people. The overall chapter that the episode covered was a phenomenal one in itself; a lot of Gasp! Moments, and then a stunning finale, revealing a lot of fun stuff to everyone, hehe. Excellent overall, very action-y, and very worrying for certain Whitebeard crew members. Very epic, and I was surprised at the end, I had completely forgotten that That occurred when it did. Very awesome.

One Piece More: Do We Ever Talk About One Piece Here?

So summer is finally over and by now everybody should be back to the grind of school. May you be rushing to finish last minute assignments or just being the good student by getting your assignments done in time. It seems like the dogdays of summer have clearly ended as the days become cooler and autumn is beginning to set in if you live in the northern hemisphere. The ones in the southern part of the world I am guessing things are getting hotter and I wish I could be there because I surely hate the cold. Still for the ones that are starting school then I wish you all to stay strong because we need to live in a strong world as both One Piece fans and people.

Anime: Marineford Arc- Episode 467

Don't just stand there in awe! OnePieceOfficial.com has all of your favorite One Piece episodes there!

First Thoughts
This was a great episode but a part of me feels like I should be a bit upset. The material for this episode was about one chapter from the manga and they really stretch out the part where Luffy was running and battling out random Marines. So basically not much happen when you think about it. Though this episode was handle great with good filler and some well animated parts. Those two things really saved this episode from being bad.
So congrats Toei for making something that could have been boring into something good.

Anime: Marineford Arc- Episode 465

Want a good view of the newest One Piece episodes? OnePieceOfficial.com!

First Thoughts
This is a special anime episode for me. The manga material that this episode was based on was the first chapter that the blog recapped a year ago. The post can be viewed here and you can see the opening image for this post is similar to the one that I used a year ago for Chapter 556. That post happen one year ago so it is kind of cool since this moment kind of falls on the same time of this blog's one year anniversary. I would like to believe that I have gotten better in both anime and manga posts but maybe they just got worse. haha

Still enough about this. Got to say that this episode was something. It covered everything that was in Chapter 556 and I was really happy that this episode ended at the same spot that the chapter ended too. Though this was an packed episode that had a lot of things happening.

Anime: Impel Down Arc- Episode 434

First Thoughts
You know. I was going to put Magellan on the 'throne' but there is a certain charm to Luffy picking his nose for bloody boogers. Don't know what that is but nice to know that Luffy is working on high priority items in times like these.

Still what a dark and grim episode right? Well the beginning of the episode was grim looking. People falling into pits of fire and boiling blood was all over the place for half of he first half of the episode. There was a lot of funny parts though that really help balance out the episode but when I look back at the episode. The funny parts came before the grim parts so I guess the grim was to balance out the happy. Wow...nice. Glad we have Opening 12 to raise my hopes before watching this episode.

Anime: Impel Down Arc- Episode 432

First Thoughts
Well I am welcoming the return of Mr. 2! haha This was a very funny episode. I mean the parts that didn't involve Magellen and Sadi-chan but it was funny. I was surprised that we got some stuff involving Magellen and Sadi-chan but that is all cool. It helped build the environment and stuff.

To tell the truth I was kind of hoping there wasn't going to be a new episode so I could work on other things but oh well. This was a good episode and very enjoyable.

Anime: Impel Down Arc- Episode 431

First Thoughts
Well this was an episode where I didn't expect to be so entertaining. The episode did a lot of scene jumping which was strange but at least it was entertaining none the less. We even got a good amount of cool flashbacks that fitted in nice while looking excellent in the new age HD TV. This episode also went by pretty fast but I guess that was because of all the scene jumping that was in this episode.

One Piece More: One Piece of Art

Originally this was suppose to be part of last More post that I did but due to all the stuff that I did I totally forgot all about this. So now this one piece of art will get a post all for itself since I think I will forget to do it later. Nice of me right? haha

Anime: Impel Down Arc- Episode 424

First Thoughts
This could be consider spoiler-ish seeing  that a lot of people on the US East Coast can't seem to get OnePieceOfficial's streaming to work for them. For me I got it to work for me but I live in US Central so good for me right? Right because I needed this episode after this past weekend. Got to see it twice too so cool. haha

Have to say this was a great episode. Very fast pace because I didn't even expect to see the To Be Continued screen to come out anytime soon. I was just watching the guys fall down the hole expecting to see them land but then out of nowhere the screen came. I was disappointed but more surprised then anything to see it there. Very cool.

Great episode. I love when we have these episodes where awesome just happens to fall out of nowhere. Would have liked to see this episode on Halloween like everybody else but this was not a Halloween episode. Still nice.

Anime: Impel Down Arc- Episode 422

First Thoughts
WELCOME TO IMPEL DOWN! MUHAHAHAHA!

Well this was some episode. I mean my main problem is that most of it was just a bunch of screenshots of things that were inside Impel Down. Those shots gave a look into Impel Down's environment of being a harsh place where the prisoners are treated like crud. Still it just felt like they were trying to waste time and try just prolong the episode as much as they can.

Still this episode had it's moments. Once again we get some good music to match the moments in this episode. Then even though the screenshots we got of Impel Down was too much, it gave us an insight into the prison. To tell the truth I am truly scared of what will happen in Impel Down and scared on what has happen so far inside those walls of the 'Great Prison'. Though got to give props with setting up the setting of what will be for the next who knows how many episodes.

Anime: StrawHats Separation Arc- Episode 421

First Thoughts
Well umm...Hmm...My first thoughts....Well I knew it was going to be funny. I mean the Brook part at least. The Zoro part I knew I was going to laugh but not as much as the Brook part. There was Perona but I knew that she would be doing something to Zoro but wasn't sure what. Still my money was on Brook being the funniest part since well...it is Brook. He kind of more comic relief right now then anybody else in the crew.

Though I had no idea on the ending. Totally didn't see that one coming.

Well yeah. My First Thoughts for this episode are lame. Either I am tired out from school today or just not much on first thoughts on this episode. Maybe the rest of the post will be better.

Anime: StrawHat Seperation Arc- Episode 420

First Thoughts
Well my literally first thoughts was that the animation for this episode looked very Movie 7/Movie9-ish. I mean I only seen one of those two movies but I really like that animation style. Well I like it because it is different but I don't think I would like it if every episode of One Piece was made like that. It is kind of like in Pokemon back in the Indigo League days and then the change of style that they used for the first Pokemon movie. It seems like the One Piece anime pulled out the special crayons for this episode and I think it really was a good choice. It did a good job in setting the tone of the episode as a dark and almost bleak setting. The anime crew for One Piece went beyond the norm in setting the tone for this movie by not only have the right music but also had the animation match the episode.

Or that what I think...
