One Piece More: Email Time

So part of our little Anniversary Celebration is going to be some sort of reader feedback post. Basically just answering emails that you the readers have sent us! Still we only got one email but it is one that we treasure. So we are going to answer it to our hearts content and all that all things.

So lets get to our email!

Hey One Piece At A Time Blog Crews,

I hope my email reaches you guys in time. It's 22nd August here and I know the due date is 21st but I'm living on the east side of the globe so I'm hoping it's still 21st there. LOL

I bet you get tons of these two questions, but I'm gonna ask you guys anyways.

#1 Who is your favorite character, and do you tend to get merchandises with his/her face on it?
#2 Which One Piece arc you enjoyed the most, and why?

Personally, my favorite character is Nico Robin because she's this cool, intelligent woman who remains calm most of the time and enjoys thrills.
My favorite arc is Water 7 arc simply because I enjoy the setting of the city. I love how they get to places and the thought itself is simply calming. ^^;;

Sora: Yay! Here is my reply to your really good questions.

1) My favorite "character" character is the same as yours, Robin. I understand her love of history, and her lust for knowledge. I also can understand her deep sadness with other people as she lived her life in pain and seclusion from others, then finally found peace and happiness with Luffy and his big "family". Another one of my favorite characters is Franky, because well, he is Franky. There is nothing un-awesome about him. His charismatic attitude and ridiculously funky outlook hides his sad past, but he is the total opposite of Robin. This is funny since I love them both.

Now, my other favorite character is usual, Doflamingo. His evilness...is really interesting. There is so little we really know about him too, and so that adds to the terrifyingly powerful person his character portrays.

If I were to indulge my savings and get a ton of OP merchandise, I definitely would say that seeing a picture of my favorite character would be a little weird staring at me all the time. I think it would be cool to have a pic of Robin or Franky, just because they would have a great shirt design by themselves. Doflamingo on the other hand...well, haha, he is just too freaky! As enticing as he is, I don't think I could live with that face looking at me all the time. Unless it was a cute little plushie...and even then I would be freaked out!

2) My favorite arc was most likely the Skypia arc, but for a strange reason. Right in the middle of the Skypia arc, my friend who used to watch OP with me said that she thought that the series was becoming too focused on side plots and wanted it to be more about pirates. It was then that I told her that this is what pirates do in this series: going on adventures and messing up political affairs, being rowdy and generally having a blast at messing up plans! This was when I discovered I truly enjoyed One Piece and it wasn't just another random show, and decided to stick with it. Also, this was the first arc that I was able to see the whole thing straight through without missing any episodes and having to go back and find them, so I was proud of that.

Haha, so these are my very true and straight answers to your questions! Thanks for asking.

Superneku: 1) Hoo boy, this may be a tough question for me since theres so many awesome characters but here goes: one of my favorites also happens to be Franky since hes pretty much a walking battleship, he loves cola which is also my favorite drink (seriously they should advertise Franky on Coca Cola in Japan, THAT would sell well), his inventions and abilities as a shipwright helped the crew out a lot after the Going Merry was on its way out and (to a lesser extent) just like Robin, he becomes a great asset to the crew, even though he was also kind of a douche when we first meet him, yet he managed to redeem himself thanks to seeing the Straw Hat's determination to save Robin at Enies Lobby.

Another favorite character of mine would have to be Buggy the Clown. Why? I just love his attitude. Yes he is a bad guy but I just love the way he reacts to EVERYTHING, his flashy talks and he certainly knows how to gain followers, hes just awesome (especially his actions during the Impel Down/Marineford arcs).

As for merchandise, I pretty much own NOTHING I'm ashamed to say T^T. HOWEVER, I shall begin getting more merchandise in the near future (when I actually have money lol).

2) My favorite arc would have to be the Enies Lobby Arc, because it changes A LOT in both the plot and the character development of pretty much every Straw Hat, particularly the character development of both Robin and Usopp (but mainly Robin of course, this arc made me like her even more because shes had a tragic life). I mean they're taking on the friggin World Government! Not only that, but the Straw Hats are even stringer now thanks to each of their new powers (Gear 2nd, Asura, Perfect Climatact, etc.) Also its thanks to this arc that actually got me (as well as a lot of other people) into One Piece and made me want to go back and watch ALL of it (that was over a year ago by the way). In conclusion, it changes SO much in the plot line and makes you cheer on the Straw Hats since the world they will soon be entering will be WAY more dangerous (not to mention it sets up many important future events perfectly).

Mikey: 1) Damn! Asking me to pick between my kids here. haha I think I do my favorite males first which would be Usopp and Luffy. Those two guys have great chemistry together. They are best friends and I love the antics that happen between the two of them. Some of their moments together really are some of my favorite parts of the series like the Luffy vs. Usopp fight or when Luffy and Usopp reconcile their differences after their fight. I just love their friendship and they are also so funny. haha

I find it hard to pick between Usopp and Luffy. They are like the Batman and Superman of One Piece. Luffy is Superman and most people like Superman. Both are strong and have awesome abilities. Then you have Batman who is my absolute favorite superhero. Still Usopp is so like Batman with all his gadgets and recently with his alter ego SniperKing/Sogeking. If anything Luffy is who I want to be but Usopp is what I am or could be.

The ladies now are clearly Nami and Robin. I could go with the clear answer and say they are nice looking which is a plus but what draws me to them are their fighting styles and abilities. Nami's control over the weather via the Climatact is purely awesome and innovated since I never seen anything like it! Blows my mind and it makes me love all of Nami's battles that she has been in. Then I find it funny that you have powerful brawlers like Sanji, Luffy and Zoro and she just controls them with a whim of her mood. haha Then Robin's powers are really cool and I wish I could just sprout hands out to do things. Her power is so much fun and I love how she just is able to beat up people easily with it. Still one thing that I really love about these two ladies is the fact that they are awesome female characters! They kick butt unlike the other women in shonen animes and look damn good doing it! haha

As for nonStrawHats then it be Crocodile. That was the first villain that I really end up liking and the guy looks damn awesome. He is so smart and you just love to see what this guy will do next. He is the perfect mix of power and cunning. When you think you got Croc cornered then it turns out that he is right behind you holding that hook up high to slash at you. Very awesome. Still I am very happy to see Crocodile is back and can't wait to get some awesome screenshots of him at Marineford.

To tell the truth, I don't think I would like to be merchandise with my favorite character on them. I tend to like to buy things with all the crew members on them. Still there are exceptions like maybe if I see a Crocodile plushie. haha Now that be fun.

2) Favorite arcs is a hard one for me. In retrospect, I would have to say Skypeia. I didn't like it at first but now looking back at it after reading it and now watching it again then the arc because much better. It is a fun arc and has some of most interesting moments in the series for me. Still each arc I have some favorite moments like Crocodile's defeat in Alabasta (which really drew me into One Piece and made me knew this was my series to love) or the March to Arlong Park or the awesome attack reveals during Enis Lobby. Still Skypeia just kind of embodies what One Piece is and just fun to watch.
