Manga: Chapter 621 (SPOILERS!)

Oh hai everybody. Todays chapter begins on Fishman Island, 16 years in the past to be exact as we explore the explanations of all the craziness and dangers going on in the present. A masked thief is running away with a sack of money as he's just robbed someone and has even taken a mermaid hostage. While this is going on, someone with royalty is chasing the robber and it turns out to be Queen Otohime (Shirahoshi's mother and previous ruler alongside King Neptune)! The robber tries to shoot her but she manages to dodge the bullet and delivers an epic SLAP across the robber's face....OUCH. In fact she did this so hard, that she managed to fracture her own arm....DOUBLE OUCH. Otohime tries to reason with the man, but he's reluctant to stop as he needs the money to feed all of his kids, she responds by slapping him again....OWWWWWWWW yeah you get the point. Teh Minister of the Right tells her to stop as her body is too weak to hit someone so hard (are her bones made of crackers?....okay that was mean) but she says she has to teach him a lesson and breaks down into tears (guess this is where Shirahoshi's constant sobbing came from) since she feels sorry for him and can feel the pain this guy has went through. But she still cannot forgive him since he may have an influence on others, the robber is arrested and vows to turn over a new leaf and everyone around begins to praise her, a child goes up to her but she slaps him because he has snot hanging from 1 nostril instead of 2....mooooving on.

Over time, Otohime's voice convinces the people to make sure the humans above can understand fish people better, she tells everyone that pirates that invade are only a small fraction so not all of them are bad and they still don't know a lot about humans. She proposes a migration or the Ryuuguu Kingdom and provides papers for the people to put signatures upon, but the people are reluctant to since as Jinbei (who has been sitting watching with the other royal guards...hmmm) points out that history answers and speaks for them. Back at the palace, Otohime returns and greets her children the 3 young princes as well as a BIG baby Shirahoshi and Otohime says that she'll try and change the future they'll live in. The Minister of the Left discusses with King Neptune about Otohimes speeches (which mention that she hasthe Color of Observation Haki) and that her speeches aren't going to cease. Lefty is anxious as there are more humans staying on the island and even mentions the protection the island has recieved under Whitebeard. Neptune also says she'll continue since their ancestors also attempted this but failed, unfortunetly he doesn't say too much since thats all there is to say apparently (hmm....mysterious). One day someone snatches the signatures, a royal soldier tries to stop this person who turns out to be Arlong! Arlong continues to badmouth humans (just like usual) and the soldier tries to get help from Jinbei whom (as we established earlier is in fact at this point in time, a soldier of Neptune's army) tells Arlong to let go of the guy and to give back the signatures since they're important to the Queen even though he personally doesn't care about them. Arlong reluctantly lets go and reminds Jinbei of how they used to be friends and live in the Fishman District, Jinbei is disgusted at him but someone announces that Fisher Tiger has returned from an adventure. Everyone is gushing over him like he is a big hero, but he said he has to take care of business at Ryuuguu Palace.

The narration explains how the Fishman District used to be an orphanage but over time, it had became corrupted and full of evil and lawless outcasts; as well as how Fisher Tiger, Jinbei, Arlong and Macro all managed to grow up to be adventurous and mature, as well as ill tempered and cruel respectfully. Soon enough, Fisher Tiger rose up against the Celestrial Dragons and caused the event where he attacked the Holy Land Marejois and freed all of the slaves (most notably Boa Hancock and her sisters), from this point on he became a wanted criminal. His old friends couldn't stand by and watch their friend die though as Jinbei resigned from the Royal Army and Arlong and his crew joined Fisher Tiger and formed the Sunny Pirates. Our chapter ends with Jinbei lamenting over the fact that the Marines overlooked the slavery the Celestrial Dragons cause and is convinced that this love the humans have doesn't exist so he thinks Otohime is wrong.

Well...that was probably the most serious chapter we've had in a while now. It established how much heart Otohime had for both her own people as well as the humans, as well as the facts of how Jinbei was originally a royal soldier and how he, Arlong and Fisher Tiger managed to form the Sunny Pirates. Of course, theres still stuff to be told from the past, the most prominent being how Fisher Tiger and Otohime died as well as what convinced Jinbei to let Arlong loose into the East Blue.
