This week's chapter begins hilariously as Tashigi, currently trapped in Smoker's body, recalls that there have been reports of kidnapped children over the last few years and of children who were found dead. Tashigi also says that those kidnapped children reports that came into G5 were censored when published in newspapers. Smoker concludes that the reports themselves were true and that someone in G5 is an accomplice to the kidnapper, covering up the reports.
Although Tashigi is not confident about this, Smoker decides to send some of his troops to steal a ship and report the situation at hand. But of course, his greatest priority is to get his heart and body back from Law and expose the true mastermind behind all of this.
Meanwhile at the laboratory, Caesar Clown tells his guards that they have received permission to kill the Straw Hats, the Marines and Kinemon and that Joker will cover it up as an accident at sea. Monet tells them that their bounties make them dangerous. A centaur enters to tell Caesar that Brownbeard has been captured but Caesar tells him not to worry and that he will treat the centaur's injuries.
The scene changes to the Straw Hats where Usopp dispenses badges to clear up confusion as to who is speaking amongst those affected by Law’s Swap. Brownbeard says that he hates Luffy's generation because he and the other Eleven Supernovas always cause trouble in the world. Basil Hawkins managed to paralyze Brownbeard and his crew, who then traveled to Punk Hazard in search of help as it was once the laboratory of Dr. Vegapunk.
We finally have cleavage for Tashigi! Was it worth it?
4 years ago, one of Dr Vegapunk's chemical weapon experiments had failed and 2 of the 3 research facilities blew up which left a mass of debris and hot poisonous gases. Prisoners brought for experimentation were left for dead by World Government representatives; there was no way for anyone to survive until a year had passed.
A man with special powers who could purify the poison and give the paralyzed survivors mechanical legs arrived. Another year followed when Brownbeard arrived and was “rescued” by his master and he is genuinely grateful.
Several months later, Trafalgar Law became a Warlord of the Sea and came to Punk Hazard. With his devil fruit powers, he gave Brownbeard and his crew new legs explaining the centaurs, sheep men, and possibly the harpy too. Brownbeard tells the Straw Hats they are sure to be the next experiments for his master, and that they'll never get away from the island.
Back at the lab, the injured centaur is in a room filling with noxious gas meant to be Caesar's "medicine". Monet calls this experiment a failure but Caesar refuses to accept this because he created a weapon that could kill an entire island proving that he truly is the world's number one scientist.
Cutting to the Marines, Smoker tells his troops all about Caesar Clown, how he is a cruel man and jealous of Vegapunk especially because the incident involving Caesar's weapon made Vegapunk even more famous. The chapter ends with Smoker warning of the danger posed by Caesar Clown.
Caesar is freaky looking. Can't wait to see more of him.
This
is another chapter with good plot development, great humor and artwork as
always from Oda. It fills me with suspense for the eventual battle with Caesar
Clown and the Straw Hats. How long will this last? Hopefully not too long but
check back next time for another review. Until then, have a fantastic day
everyone!
Possibly the funniest situation the Straw Hats have ever been in.
I always love the little nods at Usopp's recourcefulness and artistic talent.
ReplyDeleteFunniest? I don't know, I am still partial to the scene in Thriller Bark where of all 8 of the strawhats, it is conveniently 3 biggest scardy cats of the crew at get stuck on the haunted island together, and for a good half a dozen chapters, we just get to see them run away screaming bloody murder like they're reinacting half a season of Scooby Doo: Starring Usopp in the role of Shaggy, Chopper as Scooby, and Nami as Daffny.
Don't get me wrong it's still entertaining as hell, but the more I think about the situation, the more I find myself asking why? Why did Law bother switching all their bodies around. What did he hope to accomplish by doing so, especially seeing as he just ran into Luffy, and didn't appear to harber any hostility toward him in the previous chapter. So... yeah Law, what's the deal? Like I get why you did it to Smoker and Tashigi because they entered an open conflict with you and they had it comming, but the Strawhats didn't really do anything to you.
As for seeing Ceasar Clown for the first time, while I will agree he does have a very eerie design to him, he seems vagely familiar to me, and I think I figured out why.
The creepy gleem in his eyes look almost identical to two previous One Piece characters. The Supernova Eustass Kid, and Wet-Haired Caribou. There may be more characters that share this trait, but those are the two that come up at the top of my head.
Hola!!! oye, deberías poner el gadget de seguidores, así podré seguirte y estar al tanto de lo que publiques, por favor (*u*) larga vida One Piece (?
