Thoughts
This chapter was all about Zoro and Momet fighting. Though, it did brought up some interesting idea such as Zoro being unable to completely control Armament Haki like everybody thought he may have.
"I can't help but notice that you only defend, never attack."
-Momet
That is an interesting observation from Momet. Zoro didn't launch a single attack but instead choose to defend throughout their battle so far. This would suggest that Zoro has Observation Haki or has not master Armament Haki. If Zoro isn't as skilled in Armament Haki, then it was a very noble feat of him to stall in order to give Nami and the others the chance to run away. During the battle, he did show signs of having Observation Haki such as following Momet as she travel though the snow.
If Zoro only has Observation Haki then it would be ironic for the swordsman who is always lost. He has the ability to sense people but lack the sense of direction to find them.
It is Tashigi's turn to shine...Or not.
Good thing Tashigi has arrived and is armed Armament Haki. Maybe this will finally be her time to shine. She keeps trying as in back in Alabasta and recently in this arc but never succeeds. Hopefully the third time will be the charm. Then again, maybe she will simply be used to help Zoro master Armament Haki. That is is trend with female characters since the timeskip holds true.
I do have mix feelings about Nami not battling Momet. It looks like a repeat of the Mermaid Island arc where Zoro had came to the rescue of Robin but this time in reverse. I would love to have Nami show off her new Sorcery Clima-Tact. Nami's way of battling is always interesting to watch but she hasn't been given the chance to show it off to the fullest. Then again, none of the Straw Hats have except for Luffy.
It will be interesting to see the battle between Zoro, Tashigi and Momet will play out. If Zoro doesn't or hasn't master Armament Haki then that would leave it to Tashigi to do most of the attacking. This will be the chance to see Tashigi's fighting style while seeing how Zoro has improved in the last two years.
Until next time true believers!
Nightmare fuel for tonight
The one thing about Nami's abilities is that I thought she was suppose to manipulate all sorts of weather paterns and not just Thunderstorms. But so far that is all we've really seen, along with the occasional winstorm. If she had an Earthquake Tempo move, that would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteThat is one reason why I want to see her fight more often. If you have notice, she only has used the Climatacts a few times since getting them.
DeleteBy theory, she can manipulate the weather to make it snow and maybe even make it hot. It will all depends on what she needed to do. If she wasn't so afraid and/or place the kids on a higher priority then she could handle Momet using heat manipulation.
My reasoning for why she only use Thunderstorms to fight is because they are her most offensive attacks at the time. Mirage Tempo was only used as a distraction while rain was used to set up. Nami just figure that if she is going to fight tough opponents then she need to set up her thunderclouds fast and strike hard. Getting hit with a few bolts of lightning hurts more then balls of hail.
Well, earthquakes aren't weather, but a blizzard or heatwave would be awesome.
