Anime: Post Marineford Arc- Episode 504

Just like Ace and Luffy have to deal with Garp beating some sense into them, so do I, in the form of my boss (coughcoughMikeycough), doing so to me on my late posts. Of course, mine is mentally ensued. Ace and Luffy…not so much. Only at OnePieceOfficial.com.

First Thoughts

Oh look, it is Sora with (fake gasp) another *Late* episode! Go figure. But hey, it IS a holiday weekend. Well, for us Americans, that is. Gotta love them federal holidays~ Hm, just noticed that there is very few screenpics tonight. Oh well, Mikey will make it up to you guys! (so I hear)

What a fantastic episode! It totally cheered me up from my depression of last episode with Sabo, because I thought of a fantastic idea~ Ha, take that, my friend told me a Wrong speculation on what happened to Sabo! Haha! Well, I am just really excited to see Ace and Luffy’s separate send-offs, and how they learned who they were. It was a really important, relatively canon episode from the looks of things. Exactly the way I like it. I loved seeing what Makino did for Ace; that was hysterical when I realized that! Of course, seeing that Luffy is always thinking of Ace and Sabo…well, it really brings you into the mysterious realm of the Mind of Luffy. It makes me re-think what he is thinking about all the time on the Sunny Go’s head. Huh. Overall, this is a definitely excellent final episode to the trio’s flashback arc, and I loved seeing every minute of it; especially the part which gave me a fabulous idea about what Really happens to a character~

Anime: Marineford Arc- Episode 482

First Thoughts

Sora’s back, and more freaked out than ever. I finally get to the point where I am seeing raw footage (stopped reading at ch. 572) and THIS comes out of nowhere. This episode blew me away. Honestly, if I hadn’t had my trusty pack of spoilers (from my 'wonderful' friend…curse you…) I don’t think I could have watched this without screaming in agony and/or fear...even though I still did. Of course, the entire episode is extremely exciting, and it really does keep you waiting until the very end, then BAM- springs the surprise on you like a crazed fangirl at a convention. Except, more serious.

{And, in accordance to Episode 480, the LOVE episode, this is dubbed the HATE episode. If you watched the episode, you should know why.}

Anime: Marineford Arc- Episode 480

First Thoughts

Sora here, proud and happy to announce that this is the last episode to cover a manga chapter I have previously read! Huzzah!! Now (minus the spoilers I already have regarding major events) I can actually be SURPRISED again upon watching my weekly One Piece episode. HUZZAH! Plus, this episode was amazing all on its own. Really surprising, blew me right out of the water, and had a perfect “One Piece” ending to the episode. Covered a lot of material as well, a lot of huge events occurred that were sure to freak out people who hadn’t already known what to expect. What I especially enjoyed was how quickly they moved the episode along, because they covered a lot of material here and it all went together so well, even with the few flashbacks.

{Oh, and I have non-officially dubbed this episode “The LOVE Episode”. Way too many instances of affection (brotherly, parenthood, friendship) to not have it be mentioned.}

Anime: Marineford Arc- Episode 459

First Thoughts
Here we are. The main HQ of the Marines. The place where the best of the best Marines gather. We have only seen bits of Marineford like from the time where Luffy receive his first bounty and recently as we watch Sengoku prepare for the execution of Ace.

Still this episode marks not only the beginning of possibly one of the most epic story arcs in One Piece but the premiere of Opening 13, One Day. A very fitting opening seeing that all the things that we see happening here only happen in one day. If you have friends that been out of One Piece for a while then this is the time to get them back in. Tell them to watch Episode 457 and 458 so they will get a small recap of the events that are important to know for this arc and then get them started on this episode. After that, hang in for the ride of your life as we watch the epic events of this arc unfold in just one day.

Anime: Impel Down Arc- Episode 437

First Thoughts
I so wanted to use a different image for the opening picture for the post. I thought it looked awesome. Then I thought about it. Had a cup of tea. Then thought about it for a bit longer and realized that this was the better image. Having Bon Clay there yelling with Buggy and Mr. 3 in the background knowing that they have no choise but to go along summed up this episode nicely. haha

This was clearly a much happier episode then the last. I quiet enjoy this episode and I guess it was because we finally got past the depressing parts of the last episode. There was a lot of laughs in this one. It didn't felt dragged out at all but it kind of sucks that we just ended at the midway part of the last chapter that appeared in the recent Shonen Jump. Still I get to that part towards the end.
