Review Piece: Tokyo Godfathers (Secret Santa)
Two years ago, I reviewed Paprika by the late Satoshi Kon for fellow anime blog Reverse Thieves' annual Secret Santa event, so here's my review of another Kon movie. Check out what I thought after the jump.

Review Piece: Haibane Renmei (Secret Santa)
…There were angels born from giant cocoons. Imagine my surprise when the series Haibane Renmei begins with no apparent conflict. Mystery and secrets abound, but they aren’t serious plot devices, and so the viewer begins to wonder where the conflict lies. This is the central idea of the series: it has no larger conflict; the conflict is only revealed in the concluding episode of the series. A few minor conflicts occur, which deeply affect the plot and drastically change the tone of the anime in a short period of time, but the tender message of the story does not change as a result, but is rather strengthened as more truth comes to light.
This series is Haibane Renmei, an anime based on a doujinshi comic series created by Abe Yoshitoshi in 1998. The series débuted and ended in 2002 with 13 episodes, categorized as drama/fantasy. For the Reverse Thieves’ annual ‘Secret Santa’ project, this is the anime I chose to review for the end of the year.

Review Piece: Baccano! (Secret Santa)
A life of crime can last forever...
Don't let nobody tell you there's no future in a life of crime, because some rackets can last forever. But we'll get around to all that immortality jazz later. A mafia turf war is raging on the mean streets of the Big Apple, a place where regular joes bounce between backdoor booze joints and the breadline. But this caper ain't about a simple gangland brawl. It's about hoods who can't seem to die proper after catching a bullet or five between the eyes. Sadistic hit-men and the dames they love, mad bombers going boom, monsters going bump and soul sucking alchemists bootlegging an elixir of eternal life.
Just remember, Baccano! ain't about beginnings and ends. It's about the twists and turns, bub. Paths don't cross in this story - they collide. Every Dick and Jane plays the lead and it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

Secret Santa: Hatenkou Yuugi (Dazzle)
So here is my review of Hatenkou Yuugi also known as Dazzle. If you ever meet me in real life and ask me to pronounce or say the name of this anime then I will yell at you to get out of my house! haha Still really, I don't know how to say the name of this anime and I don't think I want to try. I am not sure if this will be a good review. Don't get me wrong, the anime is good. I just don't think I am very good with reviews since I think most of the things I watch are good. Still how about we sit down and take a look at Hatenkou Yuugi.

One Piece More: Got One Piece?
I think this is a very fitting image for this week. As millions of Americans gather around to eat tons of food to show how thankful they are for what they have and don't have, our favorite pirate crew come together to eat a lot of food as they always do. Aww...Nice nice nabe. I could go for some of that right now. Perfect to have on a cold day especially right now as winter is slowly coming to my little corner. All that food looks really yummy and now I am getting hungry which is strange since I ate dinner like an hour ago.
Still I hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving for those that live in the US. Now to other things. I say this right now...This post was suppose to be done last week. The thing is that I didn't feel like doing a More post last week and decided to enjoy a few days off from blogging since the early release of the manga post ruin my two day break last week. Then next week there will most likely won't be a More post because I am going to be busy Friday night. This week I am just going to talk about stuff since that is what my More post are really. So sit though and enjoy.
