Its standoff time! Read One Piece each week in Weekly Shonen Jump!
Continuing from last week, Doflamingo and Fujitora have made their presences known on Greenbit and Doflamingo reveals that he "resigned" from the Seven Warlords simply to lure the Straw Hats and Law out. Doflamingo could only do this if he was a Celestial Dragon...Is he?
Law stays focused to the plan though and doesn't plan on letting Caesar go now. Law demands that the negotiations to be redone but Doflamingo won't listen. While this is going on, Fujitora takes note of Caesar and how he can't be arrested because he works under a Warlord and would get pardoned. Doflamingo mentions how powerful Fujitora and Ryokogyuu (the other new Admiral) are supposed to be.
While Fujitora says that Doflamingo's actions are suspicious, Doflamingo changes the subject by asking what will become of Law and Fujitora states that he can't be a warlord anymore if Law really was in alliance with the Straw Hats but if they were simply his subordinates then he would be exempt.
Caesar is totally fanboying
Law takes note of the situation and decides to buy some time by revealing that he is in alliance with the Straw Hats so Fujitora officially revokes his title as Warlord and attacks...with a giant meteor....wow. With use of their own powers, Law and Doflamingo are safe leaving footholds around a massive crater.
Doflamingo asks what the Fleet Admiral taught him, while Law takes note of the fact that Fujitora doesn't need to see to be dangerous. Fujitora response that he was merely testing their strength. Just what is Fujitora's power? A copying power?
Meanwhile in Dressrosa, Franky has located the factory along with the one-legged soldier while talking to Sanji on the transponder snail. What's more is that he did the old dine and dash tactic (Who is he, Ace?) because hes being chased by a chef.
Grand theft cola?
The two decide to meet at the flower field but Sanji is worried about Nami because he can't get a hold of her, but Franky reminds her that she is not weak and that Chopper and Brook are there to help if worse comes to worst.
Violet notices her underlings are approaching and gives Sanji a map to the factory because the factory is masquerading as a toy house. Sanji is worried that Violet will get into more trouble if she helps him anymore but Violet doesn't care because the higher ups are bound to know by now anyway.
Sanji is touched and tells Violet that she should wait at the western port for him because he'll take her away to free her. Violet smiles, calls him a fool and runs off when Kinemon appears out of nowhere because Doflamingo's men are coming.
After Sanji beats them up, Kinemon says that can't attack himself since his friend Kanjuro is a hostage and it could be dangerous to cause damage and on top of that, he's being held in the toy house (which as I said before is the factory in disguise...hmmm).
Seriously Kinemon, how did you do that?!
Back on Greenbit the gnomes are freaking out about the rumbling caused by the meteor, but Usopp calms them down through his infamous lying by saying that was his haki. Brilliant.
Usopp and Robin notice that there is a statue of none other than Montblanc Noland, when they ask the gnomes about him they explain that over four hundred years ago Noland helped their ancestors when bad humans were ravaging the land. Usopp's lying caused the gnomes to believe that he was a descendant of Noland (known as Usoland).
Robin says that what he's doing is wrong but Usopp tells her not to worry because they've got food and supplies from them. The gnomes decide that "Usoland's coming" was fateful since they vowed to defeat Doflamingo four hundred years ago...interesting.
They decide that after the meal, they will go through an underground tunnel to meet up with their allies in the flower fields of Dressrosa in order to defeat Doflamingo once and for all and the great hero Usoland shall lead them to victory. The chapter ends with Usopp...pretty much crapping his pants in fear, as he does.
Montblanc Noland is the Man of Chestnut!
That was a lot to take in wasn't it? First of all, this was a very well drawn chapter, especially when Fujitora attacked Doflamingo and Law with his meteor attack. We get some interesting bits about Doflamingo once again, especially regarding the fact that the gnomes have been in battle with him for four hundred years. Whether this means that they've been in battle with the Doflamingo family for that long or Doflamingo is just REALLY old, I don't know although the former seems more plausible.
It was also nice to get a callback to Noland, it shows just how much Usopp respected him by masquerading as his descendant although Cricket would probably be a bit mad if he knew, either way its really funny in a way. Especially Usopp's face at the very end. Classic.
Its still a lot to handle because a lot of plots are starting to mix together but there is still the matter of the tournament but also what is going on with Nami because Sanji couldn't contact her apparently. I know some people don't like it but I prefer focusing on one plot at a time in some cases because it quite literally hurts my head. Maybe I'm overreacting.
In any case, I'll be looking forward to next time and whatever Oda throws at us next as much as I complain. See you all next time!

I want this framed on my wall. Its beautiful.
Doflamingo is confirmed by the author to be 41 years old. So yes they are probably talking about being at war with his family.
ReplyDeleteAs hilarious as that final image was, I seriously hope this ends up being the caveat that ends Usopp's lies once and for all. I REAALLY want to like Usopp, I really do. But then he goes an pulls bullshit like this that makes me think he hasn't learned a damn thing since he left Syrup Village. Has he forgotten all the REAL battles he has fought at this point? Is he completely ignorant of the reputation he has made for himself as the King of Snipers? There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON he should have to resort to these tall tales of his anymore when he has all the fire he needs to make a real hero out of his own triumphs.
That is all.
