Art Piece: Holy Crossover Batman!

You can say that again Robin.

A bit late but Mikey is finally doing an Art Piece. It also happens to be late since this was going to be done in April. Still we got some really good fanart this month and I am impressed with every submission that we got. You are going to see a theme in the submissions for this post and surely the title for this post will make more sense.

Still on to the fanart!

Our first Art Piece comes from StrawHatPirate9 which has a very interesting story behind it. StrawHatPirate took it upon herself to take up the challenge that I issued in the Anime Post for Episode 489. In that post I asked for somebody to draw Mio from K-On! dressed up as Boa Hancock. She went above and beyond to make this happen considering that the moment of this drawing she hadn't see K-On!.

As for the fanart itself. I have to say I am amazed at how great it came out! StrawHatPirate did an awesome job in drawing a character that she isn't familiar with. She captured Mio's emotions perfectly in my opinion. I have a good feeling that this is exactly how Mio would react if she was wearing an outfit that Hancock wears. haha

Now this is just awesome. Roy Mustang (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) and Risa (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) who voice actors also play as Ace and Luffy for the Funimation dub of One Piece. It is an assumed fact that one of the reasons why Travis Willingham was chosen for the role of Ace was because he already plays a fire powered character in Fullmetal Alchemist.

She even went to add a personal touch to Roy's outfit as you can see that the 'A' on the buckle was changed to an 'R' and the tattoo as well to reflect the changes between the two characters. That is very nice touch to both

Another thing to note is that the coloring in both of Ally's pieces. The shading and coloring is nicely done. I really like the coloring done for the FMA:B one and it was the second thing that caught my eye when I looked at it for the first time.

Here we have a combined work between Ally and Christine. The line work was done by Christine while the coloring was done by Ally. Combining the two great skills of two different artists to create a masterpiece!

Christine rendition of Luffy is very unique due to the expression that he is showing. I don't know why it looks different I feel it is because of Luffy's happy expression. It is like taking something old and making it new. I guess. Either way this looks really good and nice to see something that is a bit different.

I hope you all enjoyed the lovely pieces of art that we got this time around. So many crossovers that it over cross my mind with how great and creative everybody is. It was very fun to watch some of these fanart pieces come in since it was unexpected to see other animes getting into something One Piece related. Kind of funny since Cross Epoch was recent in the US a few months ago.
