One Piece More: Send the One Piece Podcast to Japan

I promised myself I would do more of these but I guess that fell flat on it's face. Life happens right?

Today we are not here to talk about my failure as content provider. Instead, we are going to talk about sending the One Piece Podcast to Japan.

Almost every anime nerd dreams about going to Japan to bath in the anime that is there. Not many of them go there because of money and the people that do eventually realize that the country is more then just moe girls and high school. They find out that the country is filled with a rich culture and history.

While Japan has all of that, they also have a lot of One Piece. The streets are lined with One Piece stuff and the One Piece Podcast wants to go there! Going to Japan is expensive especially if you are planning to do everything that the OPP plans to do. They want to go to Tokyo and hit up many One Piece related events in Japan while hunting down important people who work on One Piece both anime and manga! In the end, they plan to give One Piece fans a documentary of One Piece in the land of Japan.

Lets take a look at some of the places they plan to visit and document on their video:
  • Bandai Namco "Weekly Shonen Jump" Theme Park (Ikebukuro, Tokyo)
  • United States of Odaiba 2013 (Odaiba, Tokyo)
  • One Piece Grand Arena Tour (Shizuoka Twin Messe, Shizuoka)
  • One Piece Planetarium (Toshima-ku, Tokyo)
  • Universal Studios Japan (Sakurajima, Tokyo)
Now, the overall goal is to interview Oda but he can be hard to track with creating great chapters on a weekly basis. If Oda can't be found then hopefully they can interview other people such as directors, assistance or editors. Zach and Greg are planning to hit all possible ways to talk to somebody who helps makes One Piece.

So you donated, what do you get? There are plenty of rewards for those who donated ranging from personal songs to pieces of fanart. Some of them are limited so you better get them while you can!

Now that you read all of this, feel free to hit the One Piece Podcast Goes to Japan Kickstarter for more detail! They need two thousands dollars to reach their goal of seven thousand dollars with less then ten days left.

Lastly, I will try to provide more content beside manga reviews. Lets hope for that.

  1. I've been to japan last year and i saw that they love one piece even more than i do. When i bought volume 63 and was reading it onboard the yamanote line they were all looking at me, there was a CM of One piece promoting something and Everyone there was watching it. Heck even Seven 11 does its own One piece Takarakuji and Sanrio Puroland's ride One piece 3D coaster was always full of people.
