Manga: Chapter 710 (SPOILERS!)

SPOILERS!

Hong-Kong Luffy, number 1 super guy! Read One Piece each week in Weekly Shonen Jump!
Following on from the ending of Block B's battle royale, Luffy tells Bellamy how he's changed since Jaya. The injured Bellamy claims his pride is now in pieces because Luffy has also changed and has become stronger thanks to his hard-to-obtain Armament Haki. Luffy was even cheering him on.

Bartolomeo overhears Bellamy saying Luffy's name and he seems surprised, although I'm not. Now we just have to figure out what HIS beef with Luffy is.
Hater or lover?

Meanwhile, Law and the others are crossing a large bridge to get to Greenbit for the exchange with Doflamingo. They come across a giant Fighting Fish who wants to take a bite out of them. Surprisingly, Law tells the others that they can take care of it because he can't fight right now apparently.

Usopp and Robin do their best to fight off the fish but an entire school of them ends up chasing after them. Law tells Usopp to remove Caesar's handcuffs because he'll have to fight too, but because Law has Caesar's heart, Caesar cannot escape so easily...smart.

Caesar takes out a lot of them easily with his gas powers but as more come along, Usopp asks Law why he's not fighting too. Law explains that using his powers depletes his stamina and he'll need to save as much as he can if they're going to be dealing with Doflamingo. It is nice to see that Law trusts the others enough to do this, but whether he is being sincere or just selfish is a mystery to me.

Go Caesar YEAH!...Wait? What have I become?

Ahead of them, the bridge collapses and a Fighting Fish charges towards them, when all of a sudden it gets caught in a big net thanks to some unseen people...hmmm. Usopp calls out to them for help but the unseen people run away since they know its a human...Could it be the fairies?

Once again Caesar uses his gas powers, this time as a makeshift hot air balloon and gets himself and the others across the bridge to finally arrive at Greenbit.

Greenbit is a huge forest full of giant vines, flowers, mushrooms and animals who smile creepily. Usopp spots a smashed Marine warship that must've crashed into the island somehow. Robin points out that the damage to the plants seem recent so the same must go for when the ship crashed.

Buddy comedy with Usopp and Caesar. Who's with me?

Of course the crashed ship means that Marines will get here soon enough which gets everyone all hot and bothered, especially Caesar who wants Law to call the deal off. Of course Law doesn't because he is now an enemy of the Marines due to the alliance he and Luffy made.

With 15 minutes to go until the exchange, Law tells Usopp and Robin to make use of their skills and scout the island for anything suspicious. As the two walk through the forest, sure enough they spot Marines being surrounded by unknown people.

The Marines refuse to hand over their weapons and as a result...get stripped and run away, guess its better than being killed. Robin uses her powers and has grabbed...someone. The chapter ends with Robin surprised to discover that she seems to have grabbed a dwarf....wait what?

Best twist in the series EVER

This was a great chapter. Greenbit looks lush, but dangerous and this was so funny. Usopp and Caesar killed me.

Its also great that we're now focusing on the exchange which for now is the main objective after all. The four strangely enough work well as a team but what exactly is the involvement of the Marines, these dwarves and possibly Doflamingo will have? I have no idea.

Speaking of dwarves, it seems obvious that these dwarves are probably the fairies the people of Dressrosa refer to in their stories but of course, won't be 100% confirmation until next time probably. The idea of dwarves in One Piece is strange to me...yet it makes sense because giants, dragons, lots of strange creatures exist. Gotta get used to them.

The only questions I can think of now are: Are these dwarves friends or foes? Will the exchange go off without a hitch or will Doflamingo double cross them? What are the others up to?

Hopefully we'll get a glimpse of the bigger picture next week, but I'll see you guys around. Gotta go back to Animal Crossing.

My guess as to what the gnomes dwarves will look like

  1. Perhaps Bartolomeo doesn't have any particular beef with Strawhat, maybe he's just surprised because a pirate with a 400,000,000 Berry Boundy has secretly entered the tournament, and that would understandably concern anyone.

I agree all the stuff at Green Bit was handled pretty well. I just realized how many plots are going on.
Luffy's entering a tournament to win the Flame Flame Fruit
Franky is enroute to destroy the factory while also assisting his toy soldier companion.
Zoro's recovering his sword from a fairy (who might now actually just be one of the dwarfs we're meeting now.)
Sanji is assisting Viola in killing her ex. (Define 'whipped')
Team Law entering Green Bit to trade Ceaser
Team Nami guarding the ship where there happens to be a stowaway.
    Kimimaro captured by CP0.

    That's 7 Plots!
