History Of One Piece: Captain Morgan Arc Character Analysis (Coby and Zoro)

Hello everyone! History Of One Piece is back! I must apologize for all of the delays. My life has been very busy since October but I'm back and I have much of the next few episodes recorded. Anyway, here is the latest HOOP! History Of One Piece: Captain Morgan Arc Character Analysis (Coby and Zoro)

Welcome to History Of One Piece, where I chronicle, review, debate, and analyze the various arcs of One Piece. Today I take a close look at the development of Coby and Zoro during the Captain Morgan arc. Thank you for watching. ^_^

  1. Welcome back Zenith.

Good job pointing out some of Zoro and Coby's best traits. You made some good points.

However I still felt the video dragged a bit. If I had to point out the reason, I'd have to say it's your speech pattern. It's way too slow. It sounds like your trying too hard to enunciate every word you say, and it's very distracting, especially when you want to emphasize critical moments in your speech and you get even slower. You're audience isn't suppose to notice when your trying to enunciate, it's just suppose to happen naturally.

Just some things to think about.

  2. I think most of the problem is that I'm reading from a script. I don't do scripted work that often and when I do, I write paragraphs of text for myself to read. It gets a bit difficult to emphasize things naturally when you are reading lines of text. Then again, during that recording I had a massive cold and I had to slow down to sound coherent and because I kept coughing every five minutes. I'll do my best to work on sounding more natural with scripts but the next 3 episodes have already been recorded, so there's nothing I can do until after the Captain Morgan arc is finished. With that said, I reallllly don't like the Buggy arc, so maybe I'll be able to sound more natural when I talk about how much I don't like Buggy as a villain.

    Best wishes,
    Zenith

  3. Fair enough.

Speaking of the Buggy Arc, I had an idea of one small adition you could add to the HoOP videos starting with the Buggy Arc, and that is a "Luffy Get's Stuck" count. You know how Team Four Star have a "Killen Owned" count bar where they keep track of every time Krillen gets beat up in DBZ. Well maybe you should have your own count bar that counts every episode Luffy spends stuck in a certain predicament, be it locked in a cage, falls asleep under the haul of a ship, feet dug into a slab of concrete that is then dunked into the water, eaten by a giant snake, squished between two buildings, you get the idea.

Might be kinda funny (especially around Skypeia when we find out just how many episodes he was in that freaking snake), as well as show just how overused and contrived that one plot device is.

    Food for thought.

  4. Now, that's an idea. :) I might just use that.

  5. Great stuff, I've been reading One Piece from the beginning once again and I've got such a journey ahead of me. It's really great to see all the characters growing and developing, as you've probably noticed while making a video like this ;)
