Manga: Chapter 638 (SPOILERS!)

SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!
I believe Luffy's been playing Sonic...not sure how I know. Read Viz's and JManga's One Piece!

Alright paisanos, it’s time for this week's chapter. Let's not waste any time and dive right in. The chapter begins with the giant ship Noah continuing to head towards Princess Shirahoshi on Fishman Island. Shirahoshi attempts to change the ship’s trajectory. As that douche Vander Decken guffaws and chortles, Shirashoshi makes her move. Meanwhile, Hody is currently climbing up a chain to reach Vander Decken while Luffy plans to get to him via awesome kick by Sanji. Luffy passes through the bubble and lands on the chain trailing from the Noah, the same one Hody is climbing, but he's still in the bubble for now. The citizens, seen below in an act of bravery, try to slow down the Noah by pulling on the giant chain; you  have to admire their effort even though it’s clear that this isn't going to work. Hody mocks them and even fires water arrows at the citizens. What a prick! Luffy is really pissed about this, and I can't blame him. Now more than ever before, I want to see this guy  get beat down by Luffy before the end of this arc.

Character development coming up! Pay attention class!

Shirahoshi makes it to the Main Entrance which is open (the Straw Hats came through there if you recall) and she manages to make it out and direct Noah towards her and away from the bubble.  She  continues crying as she acts. Seriously, she’s growing as a character. As Noah follows Shirahoshi, the chain Luffy is climbing rises and he falls off, fortunately he climbs into a small bubble so he won't sink or drown. But now, he’s very vulnerable against Hody since now they're in the ocean meaning Hody is more powerful. Meanwhile, Decken is ‘muhaha-ing’ at Shirahoshi and he even continuess proposing. Dude, I don't think she wants to marry you. Talk about desperate. Anyway, he throws knives at her but they're stopped by her older brothers the princes Manboshi and Ryuboshi. Ryuboshi says they need to bring down the Noah as Neptune declared that Noah must not be damaged, so they try to find a safe place to steer the ship but there are too many obstacles in its’ path. Ryuboshi says that Decken must be apprehended at once.  Cutting too Luffy and Hody, Hody failed to kill Luffy as  Fukaboshi saved Luffy despite his own injuries. Hody brings out a frigging huge blade that he wears like a shark fin to slice Luffy, but he misses. He doesn't try again though he just continues moving past Luffy,   which is weird. Luffy demands that Fukaboshi take him to Noah because he must stop Hody and Decken as he promised Shirahoshi. Fukaboshi recalls the promise he made with his brothers to become strong warriors and agrees to take him; he even apologizes to Luffy for doubting him. Hody overhears all of this as he suddenly appears and decides to goto the deck of the Noah himself. The chapter ends with Hody and Decken meeting up, Decken proudly displays his plans to kill Shirahoshi and then Hody stabs him with his trident asking Decken what will happen to the ship if he dies...damn.

Dear Hody, thanks for killing the annoying villain of the arc

What did I think of this chapter? Nothing much to say except great action, great character development from Shirahoshi in particular although she may go even further later, as well as the usual great art from Oda sensei. I must admit, Hody killing Decken was both predictable and satisfying but it was still good plot development as we don't know the fate of the Noah now that Decken has been killed. My votes on it just sinking but that'd be too predictable. Anyway the big questions are; will Luffy be able to defeat Hody now that we're in a zone where he's at his strongest? Will the Noah and the rest of Fishman Island be safe? Will we ever find out what was on that Poneglyph Robin found? Who is Joy Boy? We shall find out next week on the next exciting episode of Dragon Ba- I mean One Piece! Until then, reverse the polarity of the neutron flow, and have a good day.
