Anime: Marineford Arc- Episode 463

Don't feel alone! You can watch the newest One Piece episodes on OnePieceOfficial.com!

First Thoughts
It seems like everybody was swinging on parade in this episode! We saw everybody from the Whitebeard Pirates to Marines battling it out. This episode had a bit of everything for everybody from a flaming Marco to a stupidly looking Kizaru. Still the main star of this episode was clearly Akainu as he began this heated brand of justice. Looks like things are heating up fast.

Summary
The Admirals head the attack of the Marines as Kizaru attacks first but the Whitebeard Pirates attack back. Both sides are countering each other attacks with their most powerful brawlers.

Thoughts
So this episode picks up right where the last one did. Hopefully this happens a lot during this arc since it seem like we are going to have nonstop action with heart-racing moments along the way. Somebody's foot is on the pedal of this car and there is no stopping unless we crash in a fiery inferno. Which may happen seeing the powers of a certain admiral.

So Mihawk, the greatest swordsman goes to see if he can attack Whitebeard but Diamond Jouz, the man who seems to have the greatest defense. Jouz is a man made out of diamonds and if the One Piece world is anything like the real world then diamonds are more then a girl's best friend. They also are the hardest natural substance in the world. Seems like the world's greatest swordsman can't cut diamond though. Is this a hint to something that Zoro will have to overcome if he wishes to put this title under his belt? Not sure but that maybe something that he should look into.

It is very impressive that the Whitebeard Pirates aren't afraid of some of the most feared forces in the world. Just look back when Mihawk first appeared and how most of Don Krieg's men were terrified with this man. Clearly a different level of pirates from what we saw in the beginning of this series.

This is war. A whole bunch of battles where it is impossible to focus on just one little thing. Bullets flying everywhere and blood is raining. Get use to this because we are going to get a lot of it.

Still it must suck for Ace. He is high above all of this with the best seat in town. He can see all of this fighting and can focus in and out of different matches at his own will. Still too bad he doesn't want to see it by the look on his face. All these people fighting for him while he is stuck on the highest place.

And enters Kizaru. Apparently the guy just realize that there is a battle going on. I mean it has been right in front of him for the last few minutes. Then again this is the slowest man in the Marines. Just look at him as his mouth was hung open for the last two minutes. haha

Whitebeard is such a cool senior citizen. If he was a real person then I can see him sitting in a chair on his front yard with a cane. Then when some kid comes on his yard he will raise his cane and yell, "Get off my yard you punk kids!". haha Whitebeard was complaining about every little displeasure that normal people would have here. Its like he found these things to be a minor nuisance or something.

Marco is FLAMING~!

Then out of nowhere comes a flaming bird! Marco!

Seems like Marco has a zoan ability. A very rare one that allows him to turn into the mystical beast, the phoenix. Looks like this is a powerful power since Marco can revive himself from any attacks including Kizaru's light base attacks. Then add that to his physical strength and I am sure you can see that Marco can do a lot of damage. The guy went toe to toe against Kizaru which is always a good thing in my book since Kizaru is one of my least favorite people in One Piece.

If you thought you heard a bit of Ichigo (from Bleach) in Marco's voice then that is because both Marco and Ichigo are played by the same Japanese VA. Something to add to your knowledge of One Piece.

So the side of the Marines begin to move but it seems like the Whitebeard Pirates have the perfect counters for each one of these things. So far we had Jouz going against Mihawk with his defensive abilities while Kizaru's abilities were made useless against Marco's revival powers. At this moment the two powers seem to be at kind of a stalemate. Just proves how powerful both sides of the field are which will surely lead to some interesting interactions.

This episode was filled of great screen capture moments. Like all these face shots of the giants. They are clearly here for the pure manpower that each one possessed. Then again maybe they have some sort of great devil fruit abilities that can help turn the tide to flavor the Marines. Heck personally I want to see that female giant do something cool since she is the only female giant there. She must have something up her sleeve if she is in this group of giants. The best of the best are here since you are going to need to best to best the Whitebeard Pirates.

Then after a long awaited moment, we see the power that resides within Akainu (that is if you haven't noticed from Opening 13). The angry admiral apparently is powered by the thermal heat that resides within the earth's crust, MAGMA! (ROAR~!).

Got to love how Akainu prepares for an attack since you can hear some sort of bubbly sound as the magma heats up. Sounds pretty cool and is a nice touch.

That magma just cut though the iceberg from Jouz like a hot knife though butter. Still expected since magma I heard is pretty hot. Not something you want to touch. Still seems like Akainu likes to punch things since his magma attack too the shape of a fist. That is one punch that I don't want to get punch by.

Then comes the rain of magma from the sky. I guess that explains the name 'Great Eruption' a bit more. Won't be much of an eruption if magma wasn't raining from the sky. Still it sucks that one of Whitebeard's whale ships got hit by it and suffering a magma death. I hope it isn't down for the count but then again who knows.

Still Whitebeard is clearly the Ultimate Senior Citizen. He just took that magma rock and literally blew it out like a candle. Still Whitebeard said something pretty cool there. Got to give props to the old man. Then again Akainu is pretty good with words too as he mention that he just want to give Whitebead a 'nicely lit funeral'. Guessing the hotheaded Akainu wants to get some blood. Seems a bit different compare to the other two admirals who were a bit more subtle in taking lives.

Now these two guys above takes the cake for the coolest attacks shown. You have one guy that lit his sword with his cigar while the other guy took a hammer out of a pocket that was on his chin. That is just something awesome. Heck the guy literally had hammer space in his chin! Now that is just crazy! It was no small hammer but a huge hammer.

The guy with hammer space reminds me of Capone who had small people in him. I wonder if those two are connected. Still got to say that Whitebeard got some interesting people with him.

Now this moment was impressive. I really liked what Helmeppo said. The speech sounded really cowardly on the surface but it seems like he knows that Coby wants and promise to Luffy that he will become an admiral. It looks like Coby really wanted to blindly go into battle but Helmeppo seems to think that they will be killed if they go into battle thus Coby won't be able to fulfill his promise. I thought at first that Helmeppo was going to say something cowardly but what he really said made sense and cool in a way.
"Our place to die is still far away!"
-Helmepoo
"To live to fight another day," as the old saying goes. That what Helmeppo wants Coby to do. Silly but true. I am sure the Coby is powerful in his own right but that power may be little compare to what we are seeing on the battlefield today. Even the three admirals are having trouble against some of the upper powers of the Whitebeard crew.

Then this episode ends as a huge shadow looms over the battlefield. Seems like Little Oars Jr. is coming on to the field. Seems like this big guy is related to the big guy that we saw in Thriller Bark and Moria wants a piece of him. All of him. haha

So seems like Whitebeard got the grandson of the great Oars that we met in Thriller Bark. Time to see what this guy has in power since it was Moria that was controlling the battle a bit the last time we saw anybody with Oars in their name. Things look like they will get interesting since now a huge person is on the side of the Whitebeard Pirates.

Preview
So next episode wills start the march of Little Oars Jr. The guy seems like he will try to bust his way though to save Ace. Still he is going have to go though the lines of the Giants who look normal size compare to this big guy. Then seems like we wills see more Warlord action as Moria and Kuma step into the fray. I wonder if Doflamingo will get into this since he said he was feeling tingling. haha Still looks like Oars will cause some sort of problems as he march his way though.

Next Episode: The Devil's Descendant! Little Oars Jr. Dashes Off!

So till next time as we watch this big fellow on the move!
