Manga: Chapter 636 (Spoilers!)

We return to the best of the best action this week with everyone continuing to be awestruck by Luffy’s handling of Surume the Kraken. He tells Surume to take care of Shirahoshi while he kicks some butt, and we are officially off to the races people. Chopper proudly gazes upon the escaping pirates and orders an attack from the tank, but the little douche cookie cutter shark-man Daruma creates tunnels underground with his teeth. I wonder if Hodi provides a good dental plan for his underlings, especially with Daruma in mind. The holes trap the tank, which Franky on his AWESUM Rhino bike also blunders towards. Well, that sucks. A pissed off Franky throws Usopp, Chopper and Nami out of the hole because he is commandeering the tank for himself. He proceeds to link his body, the tank AND the bike together through another docking system to become...GENERAL FRANKY THE MECHA...I think I'm in love.

Franky apparently developed this GEM thanks to Dr Vegapunk's dream and a special new metal [Editor’s note: Wapol-metal]. Luffy, Usopp and Chopper all geekgasm like me as General Franky prepares to attack with a sword. Unfortunately, he is not a swordsman so he just swings the sword randomly, but he has shoulder cannons, which requires the opening of the robot pirate top so Franky can fire with them out of his body...ooookay. While he takes care of them Nami is ambushed by a douche who describes her as weak looking.  Nami counters the attack however with her new Sorcery Climatact and slices the guy with a Gust Sword. THIS is why you shouldn't screw with Nami. Usopp also attacks with a pop green weapon called Bamboo Javelin which is also coooool. Usopp then thanks Heracles as he proudly proclaims this is the second chapter of the Great Usopp's adventure! The little boob Daruma digs more holes to try and stop the Straw Hats but notices that someone else is underground with him, and he is then suddenly launched in the air! Who did this? Why our own little Chopper who isn't so little now in his Horn Point form. Not only are the horns HUGE but Chopper can now freely change between his seven improved forms without the use of a Rumble Ball.  He in fact claims that he only needs the Rumble Ball for one form (I would venture to guess at a controllable Monster form, debate  it people!). I love that Oda did this,  as it has displayed how far we've come since these characters were first introduced.

Lesson of the day is never to underestimate the pretty girls, they will kick your ass

What is Hody going to do about all this? Why, try to coax Surume back to the dark side if you will, by threatening his brethren living in the arctic. This nearly works as Surume tries to squeeze Shirahoshi, but Luffy understands his dilemma and says he'll protect his family too which calms Surume down. Dosun and Ikaros try to kill Luffy but do not doubt the power of the  Monster Trio as Sanji and Zoro take them both down, (no doubt leading to more individualized fights later) while Luffy simply walks towards Hody. Again, this is awesome. Luffy goes so fast that Hody misses him until Luffy delivers an epic kick to his face. On the next and final pair of pages, we then cut to the giant ship Noah that Vander Decken sent flying to crush Shirahoshi, that has suddenly appeared and is crushing everything around it. King Neptune in particular is shocked as it is not supposed to be moved until "the day it needs to come," (Reverie possibly?) and the chapter ends there.

What are my final thoughts on the chapter? Just as with the previous weeks, I loved this chapter. In particular, the action sequences are just what we have been waiting for and they are simply glorious. The questions are; how will/ will our heroes survive the Noah’s movement? Will Luffy stop Hody's plans? Will peace ever come between the fishmen and humans? We'll find out next time, hopefully.
