One Piece More: Summer Love

I love Summer. It may be as hot as heck and makes people sweaty but I so prefer it over the cold winter. Also it is a time of the year where a person can relax and just do whatever they want. May it be small little side projects, doing summer school or just doing nothing. It is all your choice as in what to do during Summer vacation.

Though this summer I have been waiting for a long while now. A chance where I can finally relax and chill. Last two semesters of school has really been something for me then the last two summers I was busy with either Summer semester or an (awesome) internship. This summer is just me doing whatever I want. Not sure if that is a good thing but I am looking forward to whatever small projects I decide to undertake. One thing for sure is that I am going to have fun and hopefully not be bored! haha We just have to see.

Convention Update
Can you believe it? A-Kon 21 (June 4th-6th) is just around the corner. Just two more weeks before I make the trek to Dallas to meet with all the awesome One Piece and anime fans in the Sheraton Hotel. One Piece related people at this con will be Kyle Hebert, the voice of King Cobra, and the lovely Stephanie Young, the voice of the ever so lovely Robin! I can't guarantee that I will be able to interview these two voice actors since I wasn't granted a Press Pass for this convention but I will try my best to talk to them and see if they could spare me a few minutes. I am so hoping to talk to Stephanie since I love her as Robin.

I hope to meet everybody that reads this blog there along with a lot of cool One Piece cosplayers. Going to have my camera on hand and take pictures of every One Piece cosplayer there and regretfully include your pictures in the post that covers A-Kon. haha It shouldn't be too bad....Just that it takes a lot of time. It should help that I am going to meet up with some One Piece cosplayers from Arlong Park so that will be cool.

Speaking about meeting up Mikey at A-Kon, remember that Movie 10: Strong World figure? Well it was unable to find a good home during AnimeMatsuri so if you want to give this lovely figure a home then I challenge you to find me at A-Kon and say this: "Hey Mikey! I am *Insert your name here* and I read your (horrible) blog!" Then I will pull out this box and give it to you and ask for a picture. haha That is all.

To help you guys out in finding me, I tell you what cosplays I may do for this convention. I am not certain on the Friday cosplay but I either will be dressed up as Luffy. Still if my friend ever decides if she wants to cosplay for A-Kon then it maybe the one that I don't like to say outloud. (Look at my post on Kamikaze Con to see what I mean.) Then on Saturday I will be in my Strong World Luffy cosplay. I can't wait since it SHOULD be completed minus the gun. haha Still if you are going to be at A-Kon then let me know by commenting or sending an email at onepieceatatimeblog (at) gmail (dot) com. Maybe we can have a One Piece meet up there.

Also for those who won't be attending A-Kon, I will be tweeting from the con live so keep an eye on my Twitter or the Twitterfeed here on the site.

Right Stuf Sale: 40% Off
So finished off watching the awesome episodes on the One Piece: Season 2, Seventh Voyage but want more? Still the pocket book is a bit low on money? What if you are cheap and love a good sale? Well now is your chance! Right now Right Stuf is having a sale on all Funimation shows including One Piece Season 3, First  Voyage and Second Voyage! 40% off all of Funimation owned shows. That is almost half off the original price! (Just makes sure you type in the coupon code when you make your buy.)

If you missed the tweet, I just bought both of Season 3 DVD sets for about $30.00 each which is a bargain if you ask me since usually both of these things cost about $40.00. I so can't wait to get these things since they are the beginning of the Skypeia arc uncut. So it will be the first time that we get the uncut versions of these episodes in the US (remember that these episodes were edited since they were on Cartoon Network). I love the covers of these episodes especially the one for First Voyage. The Going Merry wearing it Flying Mode things with a smiling Luffy is awesome. haha

Also if you haven't gotten any of the other One Piece DVDs then this is the time to get them. Like YuYu Hakusho? Soul Eater? Initial D? Well they are part of the sale too! So go out there and buy some stuff! I am sure you guys got plenty of time to watch some anime this summer!

Durarara
rarararararararararararararararararararara~

This is maybe the only thing that carried over from the Winter anime season and I am loving it! The show is just so great and maybe one of the best things that I have seen this season. I admit that it is a bit rough to start but it has a charm that I like. It gives you the view point of different characters at first then moves on to the main plot by the zooming in on the right characters.

For those that don't know what Durarara is about:
The story follows the people who live in the city Ikebukuro. Mikado moves into the city due to an invitation from his friend Kida and later meets Anri. Mikado discovers that there is more to meets the  eye in the city of Ikeburkuro as there is the force of the 'Headless Rider', the organization known as The Dollars, and the many other hidden secrets.

Damn, my summaries so don't even scratch the surface of how great this series is.

It took me a while since I had fallen behind during the last few months because of school but once I got back to watching it, Durarara was easy to catch up on. I am not as young as I use to be but marathoning was so easy since certain episodes just leave you wanting more. Thus making you wanting to click on the next episode to see what will happen next. It is such an awesome show and hard to predict what will happen next which is something that I have been noticing about myself. I am not liking shows where I can predict what is going to happen and be right. It sucks since I want to enjoy it for their great storyline and humor but it just not cool to know what will happen next. I should break that habit or trait but it is a good thing that Durarara isn't like that. You think something will happen then you get slap in the face as something else happens.

I also love each character. The show has people that are fun to watch and each one of them is different. The main core characters: Mikado, Kida and Anri are so interesting and I can't wait to learn more about them.

Durarara is an anime that I suggest anybody who hasn't watch it to watch. The show is great and has a good feeling to it. There are some great characters and each one of them get the screentime that they deserve. So nobody goes unloved in this series. It makes me sad that this is only a twenty-four episode series and that the story is still ongoing. I hope that this show gets a second season since it seems like there is more story to the show then what is going to be covered in the anime. I am willing to wait a year or so for it.

So if my fanboying got you interested in this series then feel free to go to Crunchyroll and unlike another series they provide, they don't have just four episodes up to view. Instead all 19 episodes of Durarara can be viewed! So go for it and give this show a watch!

Wanted: Dead or Alive
Just reminding you guys that I still looking for some bloggers to help me out with stuff. I got a few good applicants but I could always use a few more. Somebody to review the One Piece DVDs will be nice or maybe able to do something else related to blogging. I don't know. If you are interested and feel like you can do a better job in blogging then me then feel free to check out here for more details. The deadline is June 10th.

YES! I am free! No more worrying about turning in assignments and doing schoolwork that makes me tire! That means I can do other things like....Umm...Okay I know I have a list of things but I don't remember what is on it....

Still now that it is Summer and there are tons of things to look forward to in this blog. If you haven't seen my Twitter background that I have recently changed to be updated with upcoming things then I tell you. Expect to see a good size post about my experience at A-Kon 21, some new voices in the form of new bloggers, and some very cool contests with what I think are some awesome prizes! I also PROMISE to eventually get the Mike McFarland interview up soon. Planning to devote all of Sunday to transcribe that interview. Still stay tune and keep reading because this summer will be a summer of One Piece!

So all have a good  weekend and don't forget to watch One Piece when it come out this weekend!
