Manga: Chapter 591 (SPOILERS!)

Live out your happiness! Buy One Piece from Viz here!

This week's cover page is Crocus and Rayleigh bathing in a hot spring with Laboon's giant eye staring at them in the background (pretty disturbing if ya ask me, but at least this page is somewhat relevant). We start out this week's chapter with literally a bang (just kidding, I meant a yell) as a Sea King off the coast of Amazon Lily has been killed despite its massive size (even though it looks pretty much like a standard Sea King but then again it's from a distance). The Heart Pirates look in awe and envy that such a huge creature could've been slain so easily. As the killer emerges from the sea, it turns out to be the right hand man of Gold Roger himself, Silvers Rayleigh. I actually didn't expect him to show up at all. also to prove how much more of a badass he can be, it turns out Rayleigh's ship had sunk in a storm so he swam all the way through the calm belt?! DAMN! Not only that, but he doesn't seem to be damaged at all. Guess we can't expect too much from a crewmember of the old Pirate King can we? He also seems to be aware that Luffy is on this island...hmmm...

Its felt like forever since we last saw these girls...

We cut back to the center where the villagers and Kuja pirates are excited to see Luffy again and we also see Hancock, Marigold, Sandersonia and Granny Nyon going off to deliver food for Luffy, where we see one of the funniest bits in the chapter. Since Luffy hugged Hancock back in Marineford, she now believes they are married...really. I lol'd so much at this. Hancock acts so funny and immature when shes in her "infatuated" state, but this raises the bar on the funny level! :D Luffy and Jinbei are shocked to see Rayleigh here since he was expected back at Sabaody but since Rayleigh gave Shakky his Vivre Card, its all cool now (so why didn't you do that before when the crew first arrived at Sabaody?). It also turns out the Heart Pirates had left and Law recommended that Luffy takes it easy for 2 weeks. We also get another mention of "The Will of D" again as the Heart Pirates set sail.

Don't worry Bepo. I'm sure you can get your girl bear shennanigans somewhere

As Nyon and the Boa sisters arrive, we find out that they all know Rayleigh (and that Nyons real name is actually Gloriosa). But of course Hancock goes off to Luffy while the others reminisce with Rayleigh (even though she completely whizzes right past him in embarrassment lol). Heres another funny moment. Seeing all the food they brought, Jinbei is hungry and Hancock makes a Hulk face at him saying its not for him and that he can only have a little (selfish much? By the way, this part is the opening picture of this post) . They also seem to know Shakky and that Rayleigh, Nyon and Shakky were protecting the Boa sisters after they escaped from the Celestial Dragons as children (which pretty much makes this whole war come full circle once we find out this revelation).

Now here comes one answer that fans have been asking since the Sabaody incident occurred. Remember back when Kuma had whispered something into Rayleigh's ear? Well it turns out that Kuma told him that he was planning on sending Luffy in the direction of Amazon Lily and he wanted to help the Straw Hats escape since he is a Revolutionary. Now this is a pretty big revelation. Not only is Kuma STILL a Revolutionary, which makes all the actions he's been causing presumably relating back to Dragon (I have to say he put on one HECK of a performance as a Sea Warlord to erase all traces) but Shakky also figured out exactly that Hancock was going to trick the Marines and keep Luffy safe. Rayleigh then proceeds to ask Luffy if he wants to go back to Saobody to see his crew again. But Rayleigh warns him that another incident could happen if Luffy is prepared. But luckily Rayleigh has a plan, but lets Luffy know that it is all up to him.

RUN FAT BOY RUN!

We all know the answer to that one but we don't get to see what happens next as we cut to the Boin Archipelago. Fatsopp is attempting to escape despite Heracles's warnings. Of course, it doesn't work as he gets beaten up by a giant beetle. I like to think of this whole fat ordeal as a handicap for Usopp as I assume that Sharpshooters wouldn't be able to fire so well, if they had so much weight on their shoulders. Heracles explains that since the creatures around are the rim of the island are so strong that it is impossible to escape. Fatsopp doesn't listen though as he attempts to use a Sea Hippo to gain a way out. But again, it doesn't work as the island starts to close like a Venus flytrap (the plant itself has been named scientifically, a Stomach Baron). Heracles manages to save Fatsopp by tying him via a rope. Usopp apparently found out about Ace's death via Flying Coo and determines to find Luffy and help see him through his pain. The fact that Usopp is willing to go through such effort and determination despite his massive girth still makes him my favorite Straw Hat (but lets not get into that).

I think "overboard" doesn't even begin to describe all thats happened but whatever

We again cut to the Torino Kingdom as Chopper prepares to leave the island to find Luffy and hopefully heal his wounds as he mourns over the loss of Ace (which was also done by Flying Coo which makes me admire this birds determination to deliver news). Chopper also managed to convince the birds and tribespeople to live together in harmony (apparently some other humans were responsible for pushing the birds out of their homes and stealing their eggs). And with that done, Chopper soars away on a bird and taking in the speed and breeze. A Flying Coo passes by and Chopper gets a newspaper from it. Once he reads it though,Chopper gets an unbelievably stunned look on his faced and its apparently about Luffy. End of chapter.

My only guess as to what Chopper is seeing is that Luffy now has a much larger bounty on his head and is going to be one of the World Governments most desired and wanted criminals, which makes his situation even more dangerous. There were a lot of surprises in this chapter, but of course as we've come to expect from Oda, more answers = more questions. Its also interesting to see that the crew is well aware of the events that have occurred within the war and I can't wait to see both how they find out about the war and how they get back to see Luffy again.

  1. If it is a bounty I would like to see one for Buggy as well.

  2. I completely agree with you. if Buggy used to be a member of the Roger Pirates, Buggy's bounty is bound to gain a boost ^_^.

  3. I'm so glad Luffy-kun is eating again <3

I can't imagine the news could be anything other than a bounty increase, but I'm really looking forward to finding out!

  4. Personally I think it could have something to do with what Raleigh was talking about. Still I guess that depends on how old the paper is and the time that Luffy and Raleigh meet up. Though I do see it being bounties. If so then there will be a huge gap between Luffy's and the rest of his crew.

  5. I think that his bounty will go up dramatically siunce he broke into and out of impel down, and fought at marine ford, escaped, is dragons son. Im interested to see if ODA shows whats on the newspaper next chapter or move on to the other crew leaving their islands.
